Meet our Experts
We are a collaborative coalition of university researchers, clinical psychologists, law enforcement professionals, attorneys, self-advocates, and dedicated community members.
We are united by a commitment to foster systemic understanding and promote equitable outcomes for individuals with I/DD in the court system.
Traditional legal frameworks often lack the specialized training and mechanisms necessary to fully recognize the unique cognitive profiles, support needs, and communication differences of the neurodivergent population. Without this vital clinical context, standard justice processes can result in outcomes that fail to address root behavioral causes, creating profound and unintended hardships for individuals and their families.
Our goal is to bridge this systemic gap through comprehensive professional education and civic awareness. We work to provide legislators, legal professionals, and judicial stakeholders with the evidence-based insights necessary to properly understand and accommodate this vulnerable population.
We help ensure individuals with I/DD receive informed, fair, and equitable treatment across the justice system by promoting ADA accommodations, expanding specialized education, and advocating for clinically appropriate support pathways..
